FOR YOU, MOMO.

FOR YOU.

:iconmomokochi:

---

So...one day I saw a tut on cosplay.com for how to change your eyebrow colors to match your wig and thought "Oh! Cool!" and checked it out. Instead of eyeshadow, it used paint. I tried it and...I failed. Miserably 8'D I then saw some blue-green eyeshadow at Hot Topic when I was cosplaying at the mall and thought the hell with it, I'll give it a try.

And whaddya know, it works XD

I made this at :iconmomokochi:'s insistence, plus I always keep on forgetting...xD It took me like an hour because I had to use picnik to type everything (paint crapped out on me, and my gimp doesn't have any font), and it doesn't move down font into a paragraph--it just keeps on going in a line of text forever and ever...

BUT I GOT IT DONE, AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS 8'D

---

Materials!

- elmer's school liquid glue that dries clear ;3 havne't tried using glue sticks, but that may work too

- q-tips~ use them to apply the eyeshadow and glue! i recommend getting some with really fine tips for accurateness but it's okay if you can't get them

- eyeshadow! i use Hot Topic's baked eyeshadow ( [link] ), it's SUPER intense! I haven't used any other brands, if they work tell me :3

step 1:

apply the glue with a q-tip for the less messy results. Just one layer should be fine. drying time is around i think minutes, but i just go by whenever my eyebrows are hard. also! apply the glue going "with" the direction of your eyebrow lashes. it'll be harder and look yuck if your eyebrows are all mussed up.

step 2:

eyeshadow time! loooooad it up on another q-tip--i usually make indents in my eyeliner from how hard i press. this is where the fine point q-tip would be handy since it's easier to be more precise.

step 3:

do the same thing to your other eyebrow ^^

step 4:

put on your wig! that's really there is all to it haha! super easy :3 just don't rub your head with the back of your hand or else it'll smear lol.

extra:

don't forget to take it off when you switch/take off wigs (especially at a con)

trust me XD

---

Q & A

Where did you get your wig O:
- ebay. where I get everything 8'D

Where'd you get the eyeshadow @_______@
- Hot Topic. Where I get a lot of stuff XD [link]

Your shirts changed...
- IT WAS MAGIC.

How long does it last?
- For me, it lasts all day at a con ^^ and even overnight when I forgot to take it off once...XD

How does it come off?
- usually I peel off the glue (which gets off a good majority of the eyeshadow) and then wash my face afterwards.

Where's your Nelliel mask?
- Downstairs lol. Too lazy to get it 8'D

Tutorial by me! Please tell me if it was useful and show me pics, I'd love to know ^__________^

edit: hey! I was thinking about making a video tutorial on YouTube, whaddya think?

...Weird source, but I know that the drag queens on RuPaul's Drag Race use glue sticks.

Ok, so my question is what does the elmer's glue do exactly? Hold the eyeshadow on better?

I have a question!

I'm gonna be cosplaying as Prussia from Hetalia (and I have dark eyebrows), so would it work for making my eyebrows gray/white?

I was actually searching for something else on dA, and somehow this was in the results and I was like, "Colored eyebrows. Ok. Hang on... wait... what??"

Actually, this was a cool little tip and may actually come in handy some day.

I work in special effects, and you aren't actually suppose to use liquid glue. Glue sticks and chapsticks would better. But I think it look good.

Soooo... This should work with dark make-up as well, right? Or will I get lovely *ahem* dead caterpillars for eyebrows then? (My eyebrows are blond-ish, but they need to be at least dark brown... *sigh*)

With light to dark usually you can just get eyeliner or eyebrow pencil in the color you want XD My friend has super blonde eyebrows and she just uses eyeliner and it looks totally natural.

I would actually suggest not using glue on your eyebrows, since it could dry out your skin.

Have you tried using Chapstick--like Burt's Bees brand, or another wax based Chapstick that has no coloring instead of glue? It doesn't dry out your eyebrows, comes off super easy with make-up remover, and you can use eye liner to shade your eyebrows (which isn't as messy as eye shadow), and the wax holds bright colors (any colors in general) very very well.

^^;; Just thought I'd throw in some input, since I'm not very keen on putting glue on my face. ^^;

I did not know glue could dry out your skin! And thanks, I think I'll try that out sometime :) I see why people can be wary about putting glue on their face, but I only do it maybe two or three times a year and I haven't had anything happen to me yet lol. It sounds like Chaptick would be a good alternative for people with already dry skin though c:

In my experience, yes, especially because it's school glue for little kids, and they usually get it everywhere, so it's washable lol

I usually used hair mousse and spray before and after using a gluestick......and then I kinda covered them with powder foundation so they would still be visible, but not as dark, and THEN I apply the eyeshadow, but the eyeshadow never sticks to my eyebrows, whether I use your technique, mine, or leave my eyebrows alone.....what happened...?

Odd...maybe it's the brand of eyeshadow your using? Did you wait until the glue is completely dry?

Ahaha yeah, I can see how that'd be a concern :P

It'd just be like getting school glue on your arms...a little soap and water should make it go away, no problem! Your eyebrows should be safe :D

this could really help me with my android 18 cosplay! she's a blonde to the point of allmost being yellow and i'm a brunette so this could really help. but before i try it out i need to ask you, after the glue dries and you remove it, will in take off the hair on your eyebrows? because i can't just show up at my school suddenly with no more eyebrows.
